Martin Munkebo started his carrier by writing a Ph.D. thesis about plastic at B&O in Struer, Denmark. Shortly after, the newly qualified engineer from DTU (Technical University of Denmark) became deeply involved with the company's production and product development.

In 1991, Martin Munkebo established the company Martin Munkebo A/S. In the beginning, the company was based on one machine, one good and stable customer, and the founder’s cleaver head. However, the rumor about Martin Munkebo’s ability to solve complicated problems in production processes spread quickly.

One machine lead to another and soon after the company’s small facilities were interchanged for larger and more up-to-date surroundings. Today, Martin Munkebo A/S owns more than 10,000 square meters of modern production facilities.
